SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSTM) — Actor Richard Gere was in New York over the long Memorial Day weekend to celebrate a special birthday. It wasn't his birthday, but rather his father's.

"Richard Gere came into Pasta's tonight to celebrate his father, Homer Gere's 100th birthday," the restaurant wrote in the post, followed by the hashtags #thismustbetheplace, #richardgere, #onehundred and #iconic.

Pastabilities is located in Armory Square and is considered to be one of the oldest and most renowned restaurants in the area.
