Altoona Curve join 'Community First' initiative to raise funds for local food banks

The Altoona Curve announced Wednesday that it is joining the minor league baseball "Community First” initiative, which helps raise funds for local food banks.

Curve fans are encouraged to visit the Community First page on the minor league's website, through May 31st, to make a donation that will benefit the Altoona community.

Curve officials say for every $10 donated, they will give a home game ticket to a local member of essential personnel.

“Once we got the info about it, it was kind of a no brainer that we wanted to participate. We’ve been lucky in Blair County to not have a huge impact by the disease itself, on our health, but it’s clearly affecting food banks, and other food distribution services.”

The State College Spikes are also taking part in the initiative.
