PITTSBURGH (WJAC) — Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan became the winningest coach in the the team's history of the playoffs following Monday night's Game 4 victory over the New York Rangers.
Pittsburgh's 7-2 victory gave Coach Sullivan his 44th career playoff win as coach of the Penguins, surpassing former Stanley Cup champion coach Dan Bylsma.
Sullivan took over the coaching duties in December of 2015 and helped guide the Penguins to back-to-back Stanley Cup championships in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons.
The Penguins will hope to add to Sullivan's playoff win total and advance to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs Wednesday night.
Puck drop from Madison Square Garden in New York is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPN.
