ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) — Lakemont Park may currently be covered in snow, but officials say they're looking ahead to opening day.

Park staff says renovations began here almost three years ago.

The park is scheduled to open this Memorial Day weekend for the first time since 2016.

Lakemont officials say the park will be open seven days a week.

Attractions will include historic Leap the Dips, the world’s oldest roller coaster still in operation, a new mini golf course, an all-new themed activity pool and renovated water slides.

The park has already started hiring the almost 150 seasonal employees needed for daily operation.
